Your baby eats at table height, with you. The seat, the footrest and the backrest adjust to their age and the moment of the meal.
From 6 months to 4 yearsThe seat and footrest adjust as they grow: their feet stay supported rather than dangling.
Adjustable seat and footrest

The top tray comes off with one hand and goes in the dishwasher; the bottom one catches whatever falls.
Double tray
It folds with one hand, rolls from one room to another and stands upright against a wall or in its bag.
Foldable, on wheels
Before
On a chair that does not adjust, a few months later their feet dangle in the air. They slide down during the meal and you sit them back up in the middle of eating.
With the adjustable chair
The seat and footrest follow their size. They stay settled in place, harness buckled, at table height with you.
Three steps, at every meal.
Adjust the seat and footrest to their size, so that their feet are supported.
Buckle the 5-point harness, even for a short meal, and check that the chair is properly locked.
Once the meal is over, the top tray goes in the dishwasher and the empty chair folds with one hand.
Everything to know before you buy, in one place.

Write to usBecause it really adjusts. On many entry-level chairs, only the tray moves: the seat and footrest do not follow your child's growth. Here, they adjust up to around 4 years. On top of that come the wheels and the storage bag, which make life easier in a narrow kitchen.
As soon as your baby can sit up on their own, without support, usually around 6 months. This is the condition set by the European standard for high chairs, NF EN 14988, which covers children able to sit up on their own, and by the safety warnings: do not put your baby in it before then, whatever the chair.
Once folded, it stands upright against a wall, in a cupboard, or in the storage bag supplied. Folding is done with one hand, without tools. The wheels let you move it without lifting it.
The seat and footrest are adjusted as your child grows, up to around 4 years. The real limit is your child's weight and height: refer to the instructions supplied with the chair.
On a standard high chair, only the tray adjusts: the seat stays at the same height and the footrest is fixed. On an adjustable high chair, the seat and the footrest both adjust, which keeps your child's feet supported as they grow. That is what lets you keep the same chair from 6 months to 4 years instead of buying another one.
With a 5-point harness: two shoulder straps, two hip straps and a crotch strap, to be buckled at every meal, even a short one. The frame rests on four wide legs, and the tray is never used as a restraint. The harness complements your presence beside your child, it does not replace it: never leave your child alone in the chair.
In Europe, it is the NF EN 14988 standard. It sets out the requirements that apply to children's high chairs: stability, restraint system, strength of the frame, and the safety warnings that the manufacturer must display. We explain what it covers, and what it does not cover, in our guide to the NF EN 14988 standard.
Yes, the backrest offers four positions, from 100° to 160°, and the footrest adjusts separately. The recline is there for comfort between two mouthfuls and for resting once the meal is over. It does not turn the chair into a bouncer: only seat your baby in it once they can sit up on their own, usually around 6 months.
